The 17th Annual Grand Civil War Ball

Dancing begins at 7 PM until 10 PM
Location: The Waverly Community House
$40 per person (no discount for couples) However ticket price includes the pre-ball workshop.
- Live music provided by vintage dance band, Spare Parts.
- Prompting by vintage dance instructor, Susan de Guardiola.
- Period dress or dress blues/grays are admired, but not required.
- Formal dress for both men and ladies is required.
- Light refreshments will be served during intermission.
Join us for a delightful evening at the historic Waverly Community House as we travel back in time to reenact a mid-19th century formal ball. Dance the night away with live music by vintage dance band, Spare Parts, as they play authentic music from the Civil War era including polkas, waltzes, schottische and several reels such as the Virginia Reel and Snowball Reel. Vintage dance instructor, Susan de Guardiola, will precept the ball. She will offer a brief instruction before each set dance and then lead you through the sequences that comprise each dance. It's fun! It's easy! All dances will be taught, so no prior dance experience is necessary.
